My LP Collection

Some many years ago, boxes of assorted vinyls were passed onto me. It was mix of Gramophones, Hugophones, Graphophone 80, 10inch 33 1/3 & 78 and 7inch 45's. I'm not an owner of a turntable of any sort, so I never had the opportunity to play them. Some of the labels on the 7" & one of the 10" have stirred my interest, being stamped...Sample Record - Not For Sale, Release Date, "Audition Record" and also having a signed label. I am totally clueless when it comes to music & vinyls, I've searched many hours on the net, resulting in very little insight on what I have in my procession. This is why I have created this blog to display my collection and hoping an expert will give their honest opinion...good or bad. And hopefully in the progress, I'll become more savvy in this area and having me searching opportunity shops & garage sales to help bring sort after LP's to collector's hands.

Over time, I will upload the 100+ LP's.

The Fleetwoods

The Fleetwoods were one of America's most popular doo-wop groups in the late '50s. The original members of the group, Gary Troxel, Gretchen Christopher, and Barbara Ellis, met when they were seniors at Olympia High School in Olympia, Washington. Originally a female duo, they initially recruited Gary to play trumpet. The girls had composed a song while, independently, Gary had written a hook that went “n-do-be-do dum dum-dum do dum.” They put them together and Come Softly To Me was born.
